Data Analysis for MCEMAX

(customer on-site training requires customer to pay instructors travel and living expenses, billed at cost)

Prerequisites: Completion of an introductory course and a minimum of 6 months of hands-on use of the MCEMAX tester
Class size: 5 Maximum

MCEMax Data Analysis Course Format

Day 1

The first day starts with a written review of the basic MCEmax operation and data analysis techniques focusing on three-phase squirrel-cage AC motors. During the review the students are supplied with a formatted note-taking guide. Following the review is a classroom lecture/discussion on both offline (de-energized) Motor Circuit Evaluation (MCE) and online (Emax) testing analysis using the six Fault Zones. 

Day 2

This day is dedicated to in-depth review of the six Fault Zones and how to develop a process of applying both online and offline tests to evaluate the condition of the motor. Individual case studies as well as the students own data will be used to support the learning points. 

Day 3

This day is spent covering special testing applications such as how to set up for testing VFDs, using Advance Spectral Analysis (ASA) Demodulation current signature testing to aid in evaluating mechanical issues, and special software test settings for certain types of grounding in the distribution system that may affect Power Analysis test results. The remainder of the course is spent reviewing the customer’s database.
