PdMA Corporation is an industry leader in the field of predictive maintenance (PdM) and condition monitoring, globally offering electric motor testing instruments and lubricant analysis services. The company’s products and services are utilized by a wide variety of industries such as: manufacturing, power/utilities, food processing, aerospace, petrochemical, pulp and paper, steel/aluminum, mining, motor repair and service, etc. PdMA has operated under the current name and ownership since August 1, 1993 in Tampa, Florida. However, the company has been in the predictive maintenance industry for over 20 years.
PdMA is comprised of two divisions: MCE (Motor Circuit Evaluation) and Laboratory Services. The MCE division designs and manufactures the following portable motor testers:
· MCEä—static (offline) tester
· Emax—dynamic (online) tester
· MCEmaxä—combination (offline/online) tester
All testers are designed to monitor and trend the condition of AC induction, synchronous, wound rotor, and DC motors and their circuits. Among the testing capabilities are: power quality, power circuit, stator, rotor, insulation, and air gap.
The Laboratory Division offers full service laboratory testing of lube oil, grease, coolants, fuel, and transformer oil. Testing is designed to monitor and trend both the machine and lubricant condition. Oil analysis can detect the effects of mechanical problems, such as unbalance, misalignment, and bearing degradation. Specific contamination, such as water, dirt, metallic and non-metallic particles, etc., can also be identified. PdMA is licensed to handle radioactively contaminated samples for its nuclear power customers.
2008 marks the fourteenth anniversary of PdMA’s annual Motor Reliability Technical Conference held in St. Pete Beach, Florida. Each year approximately one hundred users of the MCE motor testing equipment gather for a four day conference consisting of case studies, training, and presentations regarding the latest developments in electric motor testing.
